Vineyard Heymann-Löwenstein (VDP)

The Heymann-Löwenstein vineyard is a safe bet for outstanding Rieslings which are not rivaled by many other white wines in the world. He ensures very high quality standards to allow his wines to express the full potential of their terroir. Here you will find Rieslings of amazing depth, density and elegance. Heymann Löwenstein is member of the VDP.

The vineyard of Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein has developed in a short time to one of the leading German vineyards. Mr. Löwenstein follows extreme and uncompromising quality standards. He reduces the yields of his vines to levels similar to top producers in Burgundy, ensuring very complex wines.

The vineyards Winninger Uhlen and Winninger Röttgen belong to the top terroirs for Riesling production, worldwide. Wine are planted on very small terraces on one of the world’s steepest vineyards of Devonian slate. Here you find perfect weather conditions for Rieslings with up to 160 days for the grapes to ripen. The wines of Heymann-Löwenstein are very expressive and have a fresh lightness, with plenty of slate minerality.

The Heymann-Löwenstein wines have very nice stone fruit, exotic and tropical fruit aromas, accompanied by the flavours of flint stone and smoke.

His wine ‘Uhlen Blaufüßer Lay’ received 97 points from www.wein-plus.eu and was crowned as Best German Dry Wine for the 2014 vintage. The ‘Großes Gewächs Röttgen’ also received 95 points and earned a spot in the Top 10.

Schieferterrassen

This Riesling ‘slate terraces’ (Schieferterrassen) is very well balanced, refreshing and elegant. It has very pleasant aromas of stone fruit and blossoms, grapefruit and apple, with a very pure minerality. It is a good partner for fish, seafood, light poultry, as well as wok dishes and curries.

Großes Gewächs Röttgen

This outstanding Grand Cru white wine is baroque, opulent and powerful. It has intense aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, raspberry, white peach, coffee and nougat. The wine has a very pleasant and long finish. The wine accompanies elegant fish, seafood and poultry dishes very well.

Großes Gewächs Uhlen Roth Lay

This super premium Riesling Grand Cru is one of the best of its kind worldwide. It is powerful and has a full body, yet being very elegant. The wine is extremely pleasant to drink with the perfect harmony of complex fruit aromas, a smooth minerality and a stimulating acidity. Predominant are flavours of apricot, peach, and apple. This Riesling is the perfect partner for lobster, crayfish and other superb seafood and fish dishes.

Schieferterrassen Auslese Goldkapsel

This stunning dessert wine has a perfect harmony of sweetness, refreshing acidity and a plethora of ripe fruit flavours. It has aromas of candied citrus fruit and peach with notes of honey. It is a voluminous, powerful and full bodied wine with an amazing finish. The wine works very well with chocolate mousse, sweet cakes, ice cream, other desserts or on its own as digestive.
