The Pfalz is Germany's second biggest wine growing region. For 85 km, the Pfalz stretches behind the protection of the Haardt Mountains, guaranteeing a dry and sunny climate. Already the Romans produced wine in the Pfalz 2000 years ago. The major grape variety in the Pfalz is Riesling. Thanks to the mild climate, high quality, powerful red wines from Pinot Noir and German grape varieties turn out very well in the Pfalz. We have chosen the vineyards Georg Siben Erben (VDP), Pfeffingen (VDP), Gehrig and the vineyard Wilker from the Pfalz, four high-quality, award-wining Boutique wineries (in the menu on the left you find more information about all vintners).
Here you find more information about wines from the Pfalz.
The vineyard Georg Siben Erben is located in Deidesheim, one of the top wine producing towns in the Pfalz (see map below). The vineyard Pfeffingen is located in Bad Dürkheim, another major wine town. The vineyard Gehrig is based in Weisenheim am Berg in the North of the Pfalz, close to Mannheim. The vineyard Wilker is based in Pleisweiler-Oberhofen in the South of the Pfalz, close to the French border.
